Meet Cellr’s Weekly Crush Paul Meates, who along with Thom Glover is one of the brains behind the New York wine label with a purpose; The Great Brain Cell Sacrifice. For every bottle of The Great Brain Cell Sacrifice purchased, they donate a book to help a child in an underfunded community learn to read. Sacrifice a couple of your brain cells in order to donate a book to a child in need. Pretty neat idea, huh?

In this edition of Cellr’s Weekly Crush we caught up with Derek Mossman Knapp, Co-founder of Garage Wine Co. out of Chile. To say Garage Wine Co. are at the top of their game would be an understatement.

This week Cellr was lucky enough to chat with Elderton Wines’ own Cameron & Allister Ashmead, and winemakers Jules Ashmead and Brock Harrison. As many know, Elderton Wines is one of Australia’s highly recognised wine labels globally, with its success being a reflection of 40 years of hard work and dedication by the Ashmead family.

The brand’s story of two Masters of Wine, Giles and Fergal, making small batches from incredibly old vineyards throughout South Australia with the help of Peter Leske is more than enough to captivate most. However it’s the wines that truly speak for themselves, which has been widely recognised through many awards such as winning the 2019 James Halliday Grenache Challenge.
